Sleep Apnea Appliances
Our dentists offer a variety of sleep apnea appliances that can help alleviate symptoms of sleep apnea. These dental appliances, also known as mandibular advancement devices (MADs), work by repositioning the jaw and tongue in a way that keeps the airway open during sleep. They are typically made of plastic and are worn in the mouth, similar to a mouthguard. Some popular examples of sleep apnea appliances offered include the TAP 3 Elite, the Herbst, and the EMA. These appliances are considered a non-invasive treatment option for mild to moderate sleep apnea, and can be an alternative to CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine. They are also a good option for people who are not compliant with CPAP therapy.
